REDS

2005 – Shiraz
This was bottled after 24 months in predominantly French oak – a mixture of new and one and two year old barrels.

APPEARANCE: Clean and enticing
ALCOHOL: 15.0%
NOSE: Full of aromas of chocolate, prune and plum, charry and quite inte
PALATE: Big and rich. Full flavoured, long and very complex. Exhibits flavours of prunes and chocolate with lingering charry oak. High but soft
tannins
IMPROVEMENT: Will age gracefully in the bottle and improve until 2010, then lasting years after that. Great to drink now but with loads of potential.

PALATE: Very well structured with ripe tannins and dark seductive flavours which confirm the nose.
DRINKING: It will age wonderfully well with ripeness, structure and flavour which will respond to cellaring by adding complexity and softness. It will peak around 2013 but will live on long after that.
Excellent with beef, lamb and chicken or just to enjoy.

Sparkling Cabernet / Shiraz

balanced sweetness lifts the flavours and a gentle acidity ensures the wine is very pleasant to drink.
DRINKING: An excellent party or pre-meal drink.

WHITES

2010 – Sauvignon Blanc
This is stunning and continues to improve every year with the winemaker judging it as best yet. It has had very complementary reviews and Philip White the renowned South Australian wine writer and critic has judged it to be excellent now but unlike most sauvignon blancs will improve still further with another year or so in bottle. He has awarded it 92++ points. Philip’s review is available.
COLOUR: Pale yellow with characteristic green tints
APPEARANCE: Very bright and fresh
ALCOHOL: 12.8%
NOSE: The nose lifts effortlessly from the glass with a strong herbaceous, tobacco leaf and fruity influence with a touch of asparagus. A very distinctive cold climate sauvignon blanc.
PALATE: The herbaceous and fruity notes continue on the palate and the flavours linger beautifully. There is a gentle soft acid which is refreshingly crisp. A very zingy, satisfying quality wine!
DRINKING: A delightful wine just to enjoy and savour now but with further improvement over the next year or so. Excellent with seafood, poultry, pasta, salads and light meals

2008 – Chardonnay – Unwooded
COLOUR: Medium pale yellow with nice tints.
APPEARANCE: Clear and enticing
ALCOHOL: 12.5%
NOSE: Fresh lively aromas with clean, citrus and tropical highlights, fresh
and enticing.
PALATE: Attractive and medium bodiedwith fresh lingering flavours of citrus

APPEARANCE: Clean and brilliant
ALCOHOL: 13%

gentle acidity
DRINKING: A very pleasant wine to drink now and really enjoy.

Cellar Door
This is located in the marron shed and provides the ideal opportunity for visitors to come and view the marron close up and learn a little of their life cycle before moving on to the wine tasting. Invariably there are questions about marron that arise and these can readily be discussed with staff over the bar as they sample some or most of the wines. The staff provide as much information as possible on the wines to help guide tastings. Many visitors really like to select a wine they would like with lunch in the Café, but tastings also lead to bottle sales at the cellar door. Wine can be taken away or it can be shipped very cost effectively to anywhere in Australia via Australia Post. The Two Wheeler Bush Tucker sauces are also sold here or in the Café.
